To get to know the island of Elba beyond the sea, you need to walk, talk, meet and eat/stop in places away from classic tourism.
The path of the lighthouses and traffic lights is made up of 6 stages, which we divide into two weekends.
Day 1
Having reached Rio Marina by ferry at 8.20am, we set off from the Sentiero dell'Amore towards Capo Ortano, then continue to Capo D'Arco and then reach Porto Longone. Completely alongside the sea, we reach Forte Focardo , a Spanish fort from the 1600s embellished with the lighthouse of the same name. After admiring this place, we go up towards Monte Calamita, where we stop to talk about the mining history of the island.
Day 2
After a morning of walking we arrive at the modern lighthouse on the port of Marina di Campo , then we continue on the paths to reach our destination, the beautiful Capo Poro lighthouse which ranges over Pianosa, Montecristo, Giglio and Corsica. Picnic before setting off on the path that climbs up to the small village of San Piero where we spend the night.
Day 3
Bus to reach the start of the stage in Pomonte.
The sixth and final stage of this adventure which allowed us to discover the lighthouses of the Island of Elba and explore the various paths of the island.
Still facing Corsica, take the uphill path up to the Campo alle Serre traffic light , which overlooks the Corsica channel, in the northern part of the island, Marciana , from where it is possible to admire the Punta Polveraia lighthouse again. The day ends with the return to Patresi along the descent of the northern route of the GTE
From here we head towards Patresi, where we will have the last hug between us and goodbye to the sea with our feet in the water!
